C-Frames and Press Frames

Typically, punching, embossing and joining tools are installed in press-bound, column-guided frames or in C-frame constructions. BTM supplies a wide range of solutions for this. C-frames are the most commonly used solution. In combination with different drive systems, from compact hydraulic cylinders and air-operated pneumohydraulic drives to servo-electric drives, everything is possible here. The single-joint or multi-joint C-frame with its small installation space and good accessibility is usually the most flexible solution. Column-guided tools, on the other hand, are recommended for use in existing presses, for example. This allows high cycle frequencies and therefore a high output to be generated. Column-guided tools are also more suitable for very large components that would require an extreme C-frame throat depth. They can be installed in mechanical, hydraulic and servo presses.

Machine Units and Robot Units

BTM machine- and robot tongs are assembled from standard components. Simple solid C-frames, lightweight mesh constructions or frames in cheek design can be manufactured. The application determines the solution.

Die Sets & Press Brake Tooling

Column guide frames (die sets) and clinching frames do not have their own drive. They are used in mechanical eccentric presses, hydraulic presses or servo presses. However, BTM’s C-frame is also used for installation in press brakes. The C-frame guides the upper tool to the lower tool and is a very cost-effective solution for punching and clinching joints in flat sheet metal where long stroke lengths are not required.
